**Good Things:**
* The patient stories. To me, the patients in the Yulje universe aren’t actors in a medical drama. They are *real* patients in a university hospital, such is the authenticity of their emotional reactions. As a result, the impact of their storylines is heightened to transcendent levels.
* The growth of the residents over the course of the series. For example, at the start of the series, Sa-bi (Han Ye-ji) was a walking encyclopedia of medical knowledge, but lacked an understanding of the emotional needs of patients. In contrast, Jae-il (Kang Yoo-seok) was a quintessential people person, but lacked hands-on patient care skills. By the end of the series, both residents had made tremendous strides towards overcoming these deficiencies.
**Bad Things:**
* I have nothing negative to say at all about the drama itself, just the uncertainty of whether we will get to continue on the journey with this quartet of residents into their second year.
* A tongue-in-cheek “bad thing” was that the sound of Nam-kyung’s (Shin Shi-ah) ringtone became somewhat triggering, because you just knew another medical emergency was incoming when you heard it…
**Interesting Things:**
* Gaining insight into the bureaucracy involved between different departments of a hospital, and the pettiness of individual conflicts within those departments, yet experiencing the heartwarming feeling when members set aside these conflicts for the greater good of saving patients.
**Verdict:**
* Highly recommended for viewers who enjoy medical dramas, and just as importantly, for those who aren’t so keen on the genre, because I think this series would be an ideal entry point into the genre for those viewers.

***When life gives you tangerines** – YES. Cuz it’s so hyped. I’ve watched 4/16 eps. And will continue when I’m in the mood. It didn’t draw me in like crazy though.
***24시 헬스클럽 / Pump up the healthy love** – YES. I like Jun Young in these roles! It’s so chaotic I love it!
***Resident playbook** – MAYBE. I loved Hospital Playlist, but watched ep 1 and not sure I’m feeling the FL character. She’s beautiful though. I did take an EP or 2 to get into HosPlay so may continue this as it also seems to be well loved despite not being from the same creative team as HosPlay.

**Good Things:** The acting. This features Namkoong Min’s breakout role that transitioned him from SMLs and villains to ML parts, and you can definitely see why. Yoo Seung Ho is also great as the ML. Park Sung Woong is fantastic in early episodes but then seems to start phoning it in about ⅓ of the way through, probably because as the veteran in the cast he recognized this stinker did not deserve his best efforts.
**Bad Things:** EVERYTHING ELSE!!! The plotting requires a severe suspension of disbelief beginning to end. The worst part is characters’ motivations for their actions. At a certain point when I started once again to ask, “Why did they just . . .” I didn’t even finish the sentence, I just said, “Don’t ask. It’s not worth it.”
The most unforgivable instance of this comes near the beginning when PSW’s attorney decides to >!throw the ML’s father’s trial.!< In one scene he’s willing to do everything in his power, including breaking the law and professional ethics, >!to free his innocent client. In the next, he caves to the outside pressure he’d just resisted.!< I assumed for almost the entire drama’s runtime that something happened off screen to explain this 180, but, nope, it’s like the drama just hopes you’ve forgotten what happened 15 episodes ago by the time you get to the end. This is especially damning because this plot point is crucial to how the rest of the drama plays out. The other absolutely incoherent major plot point is blaming the evil chairman for>! PSW’s father’s death. I get that he had an evil scheme to murder a rival by blowing him up that PSW’s dad was somehow involved in (although exactly how I’m still confused by), but the father died through his own reckless driving. Even if he had illegal explosives in his truck because of the chairman’s scheme (this is still a guess because the drama never bothers to explain), it was his decision to make a u-turn and drive like a maniac instead of going through the police checkpoint, maybe getting arrested, and then being killed in jail to tie up the loose end, like in any self-respecting drama.!< Then at least it would’ve been the villain’s fault! This is like the ridiculous blame-gaming leads do when they hold themselves accountable for actions beyond their control, only this time it’s directed at the villain who somehow never once says, “Why are you blaming me for this?” Although he does this a lot for things he’s actually to blame for. **Interesting Things:** The screenwriter Yoon Hyun Ho only has two other dramas I’ve even heard of: **Military Prosecutor Doberman** and **Lawless Lawyer**. Now I know to avoid these, and you can too! (I admit I've heard good things about **MPD**, but my trauma is far too great to give it a chance myself). **Verdict:** This is not just a “No,” but a “NOOOOO!” shouted by the character with their hand outstretched as their friend falls backwards off a cliff in slo-mo. When I mentioned my intention to watch this as part of Namkoong Min Quest 2025, nobody gave me a head’s up to let me know the travesty I was in for. Now, I’ve done my duty by warning everyone reading this. Because friends don’t let friends watch **Remember.**

Anyone who enjoys crime thrillers will probably find something to enjoy about this drama. **Love in the Big City (Movie)** The Good: Kim Go Eun's acting is absolutely fantastic. It really stands out because of how good it is. The Bad: The story at points just rushes through important plot points. The Verdict: Maybe. This is a classic queer coming of age story + a story of maturity. I can't fully recommend it because it might not resonate with people who haven't gone through these experiences themselves. Personally, I loved it because it reminded me of my first roommate after college. **When the Phone Rings** The Verdict: Just no. I hoped Yoo Yeon Suk could save it but just no.

If you are looking for a laid back k drama where there are no misunderstandings no sad emotions and you just want to see how a relationship blooms between the couple then this drama is for you
A highly, I would rather say a 10/10 recommendation.
2. Weak Hero Class 1 : If you are into more action dramas or highschool dramas/bromance this drama is for you. I liked it quite enough and am planning to watch next season. The drama has been filled with some good action sequences throughout the whole show.
I would recommend it.

KJU and PMY were very comfortable with each other and it showed. KJU said they wanted to make viewers’ hearts flutter so the director gave him and PMY free rein to beef up the script. They ended up rewriting or ad-libbing more than half of their scenes, including adding a bunch of unscripted kisses and physical affection.

* [Scarf-untangling scene](https://youtu.be/Bm4DTW7KAtU?si=N2mSOkYdqxgiYOUk) — KJU said they added this scene at the last minute at the end of a long shooting day and they were wet and cold, so they only shot a few takes.
