Welcome to our **Spotlight On** post series where you can share your picks of dramas that deserve the spotlight! Each **Spotlight On** post is focused on a genre or theme, as you can see in the post title. Based on this genre/theme, you are welcome to share your views about dramas you have watched that fit the topic of this post, which is:

**[Let Me Be Your Knight](https://www.reddit.com/r/KDRAMA/s/IitSOp4TXZ)** – the lead singer (Lee Jun Young) of a popular band sleep walks and finds himself in uncomfortable situations so his label hires a psychiatrist to treat him. But what they all don’t know is that the psychiatrist they hire is in reality her twin sister who is hiding from loan sharks. A number of the band members including Lee Jun Young are real life idols.
**[Imitation](https://www.reddit.com/r/KDRAMA/s/JPGcIa3ZES)** a woman works towards her dream of becoming an idol and catches the attention of the lead singer of Shax (Lee Jun Young), the most popular idol group in Korea. Most if the main characters and idol group members in this drama are real life idols.
While Imitation is more idol-centric I personally enjoyed Let Me Be Your Knight More. Neither seem overly successful or popular kdramas but Lee Jun Young delivers fantastic performances in both so I think they deserve more attention.

* **Good Things**: A surprisingly frank look at the competition girls in Korean schools go through. Much further towards lesbian territory than most K-dramas dare.
* **Bad Things**: I’m not at all sure about the ending. Left me feeling strange all evening.
* **Interesting Things**: Fantastic chemistry between the two (female) leads. A really interesting dynamic between all four lead characters in that all are friends/rivals/suspects. A very tightly-paced mystery/thriller. The pressure Korean schoolkids are under is really quite something. Definitely pushing boundaries.
* **Spotlight On Because**: Lead actress, Lee Hye-ri, is listed on Wikipedia as one of the biggest K-Pop idols of the last couple of decades. I had no idea, and would not have believed she was 30 rather than 17.
I’d be interested in talking about this one more, I binged it in two days (half-hour episodes are a weird change of pace for me!), and now it’s suddenly stopped and left on a strange note. I’ve previously watched Hierarchy which I enjoyed, but thought this was a lot better. Any other high school drama/thrillers you’d recommend?

RoyGeraldBillevue: Hyewon is also a former idol as she was in Izone. With Jo Yuri in Squid Game 2, Minju in Undercover High School, and Yena in Villains Everywhere I’ve had a lot of drama clips come across my Twitter from Izone fans.
I also agree that the ending just kinda happens. I watched it as it dropped on Viki and so I did lose track of who was plotting what with what info, so maybe that’s on me. I was very much there for the main characters vibing with each other. It was a very different tone than most dramas and it made it refreshing.
I’ll also add that Hyeri has a very youthful image in Korea because she was the youngest member of Girls Day and Reply 1988 is a career defining hit. On her YouTube channel episode with Soobin she actually mentions she was originally offered to read as Suelgi. But I think her playing the more experienced seductress is a really fun expansion of her image.

I was hoping to find something else like it, since it didn’t feel resolved I wanted to just transfer straight into watching something similar almost like a continuation. But from the interviews I saw, Hyeri’s character is very different to those she’s played before, so I don’t think there’s much similar from her to be found elsewhere.
I watched the first episode of Reply 1988 a few months ago, did not recognise Hyeri from that at all. It’s crazy how different she looks with a different hairstyle.

The ending is also a little flat but the bulk of the show is a bunch of fun shenanigans.
